Founded in 1806, James Dixon Sons was one of the major British manufacturers during the industrial revolution. The high quality of their production was soon rewarded with commissions to create some of the world’s most coveted trophies. The materials used by James Dixon Sons are among the most varied and sought-after, including pewter, silver-plated and galvanized Britannia metal. The company remained in the hands of the Dixon family from its foundation until 1976, when it was incorporated into a larger company based in Sheffield, England.
